When I interviewed Assya, I don’t think I have learned so much from anyone apart from Assya in my life. Now let me tell you a little story of how I came across Assya Shabir. Someone saw that I had a TV show and messaged me Assya Shabir’s Story to be an inspiration. I didn’t know anything about Assya until I saw her Facebook timeline and the video she did for BBC. I was blown away, and literally cried for 2 weeks. I just couldn’t believe how someone could be so grateful on a complete another level. I usually preach gratitude, and Assya was doing just that but on a whole new level.
Assya has a rare skin disease called EB-Epidermolysis Bullosa, which means she has only 6 layers of skin and her top skin is super sensitive and keeps peeling, and bursting. Assya has to live on a daily morphine to handle the pain she goes through physically. Assya still believes that she is so lucky because she is able to eat, drink and have all of her five senses, just WOW! Assya shares her story of being bullied and looked at oddly on a daily basis. Regardless of what happens she has embraced EB as a blessing and a gift. I wish her the very best and please watch this amazing inspirational interview of Assya Shabir.
